There are many different reasons why a farmer decides to buy a certain machine. In the first part of our blog series with the topic ”PE vs stainless steel in the plant protection sector: What is the best choice for my farm?” we had a look at the advantages of each tank version and in the second part we told you why a farmer from Lower Saxony went for a PE tank.

The arable farm of the Schule Uemmingen family is located in Lower Saxony, about 18 km north of Braunschweig. A farm with a long history that has its origin in Bochum. Now the third generation of the family is living in Gifhorn. We want to take the opportunity to present a farm that deliberately opted for a sprayer with a PE tank despite the numerous crops the farm grows.
Polyethylene or stainless steel tank – which one suits my farm? This question keeps coming up when talking to farmers. But it is not possible to give a general answer based on farm size or crop. You rather have to take an individual decision for every single farm.
Today a state-of-the-art single grain seed drill is often considered to be a universal seed drill. Thus, with our Maestro line it is possible to sow a wide range of other crops in addition to the most important single grain crop maize. Legumes like beans and peas play an increasingly important role, in warmer Southern countries the sunflower often is one of the most important crops.
In recent years there has been growing interest in the potential of soils to sequester carbon [C] from the atmosphere and there has been an increased number of studies investigating the dynamics and nature of soil organic matter [SOM].
Achieving ‘more with less’ is a common catch phrase often heard within many industries, particularly so in agriculture. Optimising any input is in every farmers interests for their own financial benefit but this also typically comes with a win-win for environmental sustainability as well.
The grain feed slide controls how many grains get into the metering unit und thus, the supply of grains at the metering disc. The slide can also be used to separate the metering unit completely from the seed supply so that the seed box does not have to be emptied if for example the metering disc is changed.
Using natural auxiliaries like bacteria and fungi increases the enzymatic activity of the soil. Thus, biological activity is strengthened and improved. The environmental quality is maintained, the health of humans, plants and animals is encouraged and the production of cereals, fibres (cotton), meat, wood etc is improved.
