Manufacturing Process Engineer (Location: Mapleton, ND)

Location: Mapleton, ND

Position Summary:

This role is responsible for determining operations to produce products and developing processes to ensure quality, cost and efficiency requirements are met. Experience with agricultural equipment including tillage, planting, and seeding machines but not required.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Investigate, plan, and implement new manufacturing processes or technologies
  • Develop, manage, and maintain SAP systems for manufacturing processes including bill of materials and routings
  • Create and maintain written standard work instruction on assembly processes
  • Work closely with shop floor personnel on process improvements, quality improvements to include tooling/fixturing with new technologies
  • Analyze production labor by conducting time studies for continuous improvement
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement projects in support of departmental goals for safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency
  • Work with product design engineering team to implement engineering change orders (ECOs)
  • Additional job duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

  • Working towards bachelor’s degree in engineering or possess a bachelor's degree in engineering or related field    
  • Knowledge of the agriculture industry is required
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Leadership ability
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills with attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work on several projects simultaneously and under tight schedules
  • Tenacity to accomplish tasks, follow-through, and meet deadlines
  • Computer skills - including the ability to use communication and organization software such as Microsoft Word, Excel and email etc.
  • ERP Systems experience in SAP is an advantage
  • Experience in project management, associated principles, and tools are preferred

Physical/Work Environment:

  • Individuals may need to sit, walk, or stand for extended periods.
  • The position may require reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist, or lifting up to 50 pounds. Proper lifting techniques are required.
  • The performance of this position will require exposure to the manufacturing areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields.
