Michael Horsch

Michael Horsch, born in 1959, is married to Cornelia Horsch. They have four children. Michael is the eldest of six siblings – he has four brothers and one sister.

In 1979, he travelled to the US and worked on different agricultural farms. When his visa expired in 1981, he returned to Germany. As his visa was not renewed, he dropped his plans to emigrate to the US.

Shortly after that he built his first machine – a direct seed drill. In 1984, together with his uncle Walter Horsch, he founded the HORSCH Maschinen GmbH that today has sites all over the world. Michael Horsch manages the company together with his brother Philipp and his wife Cornelia.
The Horsch family also runs several agricultural farms. Different tests are carried out at the farm “AgroVation” in Kněžmost in the Czech Republic to cope with the challenges of agriculture and to practice future-oriented arable farming.
