Description:
The Paint Line Blaster plays a critical role in ensuring high-quality finishes on HORSCH equipment by preparing machine components for painting using industrial abrasive blasting systems. This position requires attention to detail, efficiency, and a commitment to safety. Experience with large-scale, production-based blasting systems is highly preferred.
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare machine components for paint using abrasive blasting equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- Unload components upon arrival and place them in proper staging locations
- Pick parts from inventory and stage them for blasting or paint line operations
- Assist with loading and unloading parts on paint line carriers
- Move carriers through various stages of the paint line process
- Operate aggregate blast systems to remove rust, scale, and other surface contaminants
- Read and interpret engineering prints to verify proper part manufacturing
- Follow all company safety protocols, procedures, and use of PPE
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment
- Ensure proper use and care of company tools and equipment
- Obtain certification and operate forklifts, cranes, and other material-handling equipment
- Adhere to quality standards and support continuous improvement efforts
- Assist with material handling and parts picking as needed
- Support machine assembly and tear-down processes when required
- Participate in facility and grounds maintenance tasks including snow removal, cleaning, and mowing
Position Requirements:
- Prior experience with large-scale paint line abrasive blasting systems preferred
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including standing for long periods, lifting heavy parts, and working in dusty or noisy environments
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to open and view documents in Word, Excel, and PDF
- Self-motivated and goal-oriented with a strong work ethic
- Willingness to take direction and collaborate with supervisors and team members
- Capable of working independently and making decisions when needed
- Team-oriented mindset with a focus on shared success
- 2–5 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting preferred
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
- Individuals may need to sit, walk, or stand for extended periods.
- The position may require reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist, or lifting up to 50 pounds. Proper lifting techniques are required.
- The performance of this position will require exposure to manufacturing areas where the use of personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses with side shields, is required.
