Horsch partners with Leeb to form new plant protection company



Horsch has partnered with Leeb, the German manufacturer of trailed and self-propelled sprayers, to form a new company, Horsch Leeb Application Systems GmbH. The new business will be headed by Theodor Leeb, managing director of Leeb, and will draw on Horsch’s own plant protection department and the Leeb development department together are working hard to develop new and innovative sprayer technology. In addition, the existing Leeb sales base will be extended by Horsch’s well-established international sales network.

Two new sprayers, the Horsch Leeb PT 270 and Horsch Leeb GS 6000, will make their first public appearances at the Horsch Practical Field Days in the Czech Republic during June and July. The sprayers will also be on show on Horsch’s stand at Agritechnica 2011. Horsch UK expects to show the new products to UK customers next year.

Horsch and Leeb have worked closely together for more than 16 years on a wide range of projects and prototypes. Since 2004, Leeb has developed its own plant protection line from that collaboration. In the future, the cooperation will become even more intensive combining the know-how of the two strong partners a highly experienced new business in the plant protection sector.

50 employees currently work at the plant protection sites in Landau and Isar in Germany, but the sites offer plenty of potential for future growth for Horsch Leeb Application Systems GmbH.
