Celebrating the end of 2011 at HORSCH



About 600 employees from all over Europe came to Amberger Congress Centre (ACC), located ca. 25 km away from Schwandorf.

These employees represented the HORSCH Industrietechnik from Ronneburg, the HORSCH LEEB Application Systems, the HORSCH France Sarl, the HORSCH UK Ltd and the HORSCH Maschinen GmbH with its locations in Schwandorf and Ronneburg and the sales representatives from Poland, Serbia, Hungary, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Romania.

News from the annual company meeting

In the beginning the annual company meeting took place. The Managing Directors Horst Keller, Philipp Horsch, Theo Leeb and Michael Horsch informed the employees about the developments of the past year and gave an outlook for the year 2012. With 165 million € turnover HORSCH achieved the best result in company history. A sales increase to € 205 million is planned for the year 2012. The 60 % increase in the sales results in 2011 was also reflected by a growing number of employees. HORSCH employed 735 people this year. In order to achieve the planned sales increase in the next and subsequent years, HORSCH brought such new machines as Terrano FM and MT, Cruiser XL, the new Maestro, Pronto NT and SW and Sprinter NT out to the market.

In addition, HORSCH will invest in new buildings in next year. A few weeks ago the construction of a new research and development center was started in Schwandorf. This centre should be finished already in June 2012. Next year the production capacity in Ronneburg will be doubled without stopping the manufacturing process.  In Landau, the HORSCH LEEB Application Systems is investing in an additional hall. Moreover, the company will continue to invest abroad. Thus, the capacity of the daughter companies in Russia and North America will be significantly increased.

Additionally, new product launches and product improvements are going to take place, for the company to be able to expand and keep the innovative edge.

Honoring of the employees

After the staff meeting, Mathias Maierhofer, who was one of the first trainees at HORSCH, was honored for his 25-year long commitment. The following employees were honored for their 10-year long commitment to the company: Jürgen Hoehlig (welding shop), Markus Jobst (incoming goods department), Sebastian Koch (manufacturing), Corinne Louis (HORSCH France), Patrice Mercier (HORSCH France), Bettina Miksch (marketing), Martin Obermaier (head of service management at HORSCH LEEB ), Michael Pirkenseer (leader of a testing team), Konrad Schmid (facility manager) and Christian Sittl (head of incoming goods department).

Entertainment program of the year-end celebration

During the year-end party the audience was entertained by the band "No Name" and the a capella group "Vocal 5." Afterwards, the employees were able to test their knowledge of the company in a quiz. The main prize was a wellness weekend for two persons. Later on, the HORSCH trainees organized a lottery. The main prize was also a wellness weekend. The proceeds of the lottery, which amounted to almost 3,000, - €, were doubled by the Horsch family and given to a MEDA project in Ethiopia. Ironically, the two main prizes went to the same employee.

The successful celebration ended late in the night with a lively disco.
