Plant extension in Brazil

HORSCH invests 60 million €

HORSCH built and opened a new plant in Curitiba (Brazil). The new factory hall with an area of approx. 35,000 m2 is located on an area of 16 hectares. In the new hall, there are among others the assembly line for single grain seed drills as well as the line for tillage machines, but also crop care technology is produced on site.

Rodrigo Duck, CEO in Brazil, states that HORSCH so far has already invested about 60 million Euro in the project and that due to the extension approx. 300 direct and more than 1000 indirect job have been created. “So far, it has been the largest investment that we as a company made in one single factory in such a short time”, Philipp Horsch confirms.

“For us, Brazil was and has always been a very interesting market – it is in line with our DNA. We come from the agricultural sector, we cultivate large fields, and we deal with direct seeding. The crops that are grown in Brazil are in line with our products. Moreover, agriculture over there developed enormously. With the extension and the opening of our new plant we set new standards. Our technologies are now available to an even larger circle of farmers all over the world“, Horsch says.

Due to the extension, the plant can also handle requests from Latin America, parts of Africa as well as partly from European countries. “We are not going to limit the operating range of this plant. The main focus, of course, is on the Brazilian market as the demand for high-tech products that guarantee an increased output and productivity in the field still is very strong”, Philipp Horsch states.
