Thomas Madsen - Denmark

Thomas Madsen, the farm manager of HSH Agro, has been working with the HORSCH Focus 6 TD for almost six years. For him, the Focus marked an important step as he wanted to no longer use a plough. Since that time, the Focus proved to be the optimum seed drill for the farm.

Direct seeding protects the soil from wind erosion and due to the strip loosening, high amounts of rainfall can optimally be absorbed by the soil even in difficult conditions.

With regard to the short time windows that can be used for working in the fields of the farm, the Focus provides advantages as passes can be saved. In this respect, Thomas emphasises the option to apply slug pellets simultaneously with rape seed or seed grass as an undersown crop in spring barley, a Danish “speciality”.

He also likes the fact that the Focus is equipped with the change seed bar which allows for adapting the row spacing from 15 cm to 30 cm. "Thus, we can sow all our crops with the machine.”
