AgroSoyuz - a heavyweight in the agricultural machinery branch
AgroSoyuz is a partner of HORSCH Maschinen GmbH for the production and sale of cultivators and seeding technology in the area of the former Soviet Union, particularly in the Ukraine, Russia and Kazakhstan. With only 3 employees, AgroSoyuz was established near Dnepropetrovsk in 1991 as a company dealing with spare parts. Now, the company employs more than 3000 staff, the majority of whom work in the spare parts section. HORSCH and AgroSoyuz have been cooperating since 1999; together they have built up a production and sales business for agricultural machinery. Today, HORSCH AgroSoyuz employs 300 personnel in production and sales and has become a heavyweight in the agricultural business sector in the Ukraine and beyond. A new production facility was opened in Moscow in September 2005. HORSCH AgroSoyuz produces a stubble cultivator, the Terrano FG and a tine-type drill the Airseeder ATD, developed by HORSCH, both in working width of 12 or 18 metres.
AgroSoyuz - modern agriculture in the southern Ukraine
Not only the valuable know how of HORSCH in the agricultural sector, but also the experience gained on thousands of hectares under the climatic and soil conditions in the Ukraine, are used for the production of modern agricultural machinery. AgroSoyuz has a 9500 hectare farm estate with intensive animal husbandry (dairy cows, breeding pigs and porkers, ostriches to produce meat). In addition, AgroSoyuz, together with HORSCH, carries out its own field trials on 500 hectares in order to assess cultivation concepts adapted to the local environment. In 2003, a still unbeaten 24-hour world record in combination drilling and fertilising was also set on the AgroSoyuz farm with a HORSCH AgroSoyuz ATD drill.
AgroSoyuz - progress and know-how for future-oriented agricultural experts
In many countries in the area of the former Soviet Union, is a need for education and further training of agricultural experts. Just as it has always been the case with HORSCH, the HORSCH-AgroSoyuz partnership also sees it as its obligation to pass on know-how and to provide a substantial contribution towards the future development of agriculture. The headquarters of HORSCH AgroSoyuz, with its training and congress centre, as well as an advisory centre for customers and suppliers, is a regular meeting place for many representatives from the up-and-coming agricultural sector in the Ukraine and further afield. In 2004 and 2005, AgroSoyuz also hosted an international no-till conference, with speakers and experts on direct-sowing from all continents.
